The fourth and last week of January starts on Monday 23. The first month of the year is going to end and my fitness level is improving day after day. Also my right ankle is quite fine and I’m confident about my future adventures.
After the short, but nice break in Berlin I come back in a sunny Po Valley in the North-East of Italy. On Tuesday I restart my training session. I have a 12 km run with Luna that finds the energy to play with another dog called Siria at the halfway point.
Also this week the weather is characterized by sunny days, but a little bit windy. It’s a pleasure running with tailwind, but running into a headwind is not so funny.
On Wednesday I run 15 km at an easy pace. After this easy run, I do 10 x 100 meters strides to loosen any tightness in my legs.
On Thursday I have a day off because on Friday I have interval training: 10 x 1.000 meters. At the end of this training session I’m quite tired, but very satisfied.
Weekend is finally here and as usual, I have a nice trail running session on the Euganean Hills. On Saturday I run with Stefano at Arquà Petraca, on the Sentiero Atestino, a trail route of about 27 km.
The main objective is to never run more than a time in the same trail. We reach our goal, but we are a little disappointed to find Villa Beatrice d’Este closed.
On the last day of the week I leave my running shoes at home and I mount my new bicycle. With my father Silvio and my brother Riccardo, we ride through the Euganean’s Hills Ring, where I can discover the fascinating Valbona’s Castle.
