The ninth week of the year is a special one, not only because February is ending, but also because I’m going to run my first race of 2017: Treviso Marathon.
My goal on Sunday isn’t to run a Sub-3-hours marathon, because my two months training plan is more focused on Gozo Ultra Trail on the next 6th of May. But my goal is to cross the finish line in under 3 hours and 10 minutes. In my first two marathons, Padova 2015 and Parma 2016, I’ve made a lot of mistakes and this time I want to manage better my pace to control my race.
On Monday I have a rest day after the long run of the day before. On Tuesday, the last day of February I run for 15km at an easy pace with my running buddy Luna. February total mileage is almost 300 km.
Even if we’re still facing winter time, the season of spring seems to come our ways. Days are getting warmer and sunny, so on Wednesday I have a ride with my gravel bike. Thursday’s workout is really funny: it’s a 6 times 1,000-meter repeats at an easy pace. While on Friday I have a relaxing workout with a 12 km run at a recovery jog pace.
In the afternoon I drive to Conegliano, where there is the start and the finish line of Treviso Marathon. I pick up my bib (658), take some picture of the city and have my high-carb dinner.
I’ll publish my marathon’s story in the next days. 😉
